This year’s signature fundraising event, A Taste of Coverdale, is fast approaching! A memorable evening filled with delicious food, live music, and exciting silent auction items is shaping up to be one of the highlights of the autumn season. Among the wonderful vendors supporting the 2026 silent auction is Dennis Young of Mo’Zart Studio and Gallery, located in New Castle, DE.

Dennis has generously donated one of his favorite pieces to be auctioned at A Taste of Coverdale. Additionally, he has offered to create a live painting during the event! He will begin and complete the artwork on-site, using the beautiful scenery of Coverdale Farm Preserve and its many unique views to capture Coverdale in Autumn.
About the Artist
After a 40-year career as a psychiatrist, Dennis Young found a new way to channel his creativity when he turned his longtime artistic hobby into a full-time career in 2018. That passion led him to open Mo’Zart Gallery in historic Old New Castle, where he has spent the years since building an impressive portfolio and sharing his unique artistic perspective. Largely self-taught, Dennis works primarily in oils and pastels, creating paintings inspired by landscapes and cityscapes both close to home and far beyond. His work captures familiar places through a thoughtful blend of realism, color, and light, inviting viewers to see everyday scenes in a new way.
Dennis describes the artistic inspiration behind his work: “I have always been attracted to realist art and now especially with an influence from the impressionists I sometimes try to make a painting “pop” by tweaking colors and exaggerating tonal differences. An old brick wall or stretch of field accentuated with strong lights and darks will snap my senses to attention with a new found emotional connection to what was only mundane just before.”
Among his achievements as an artist is the 2024 Best Gallery – Upstate Award from Delaware Today’s Best of Delaware issue. Below are examples of Dennis’s work.
